IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Karl Eugene
Chase, Sr.
January 1, 1957 – October 24, 2021
Karl Eugene Chase, Sr., 64 of Indian Head, Maryland.
Obituary
Karl Eugene Chase was born January 1, 1957 to Rosa Theresa (Dyson) and Russell Eugene Chase in Washington, DC. On Sunday, October 24, 2021, surrounded by his family, Karl was called home to be with the Lord at his residence.
Karl was educated in the Charles County Public School System and graduated from Lackey High School in 1974. After high school Karl went on to take courses in Information Technology at Charles County Community College and the Automation Academy in Washington, D.C. He went on to become a computer programmer working for NASA in Greenbelt. Karl also pursued other avenues of employment during his working career.
He accepted the Lord at a young age and was baptized in 1966 at Macedonia Baptist Church, by Reverend Palmer.
In May of 1979, Karl was joined in matrimony to Barbara Ann Ford. From their union they had two children; Cynthia A. Chase and Karl E. Chase, Jr.
Karl Sr., was known to get a party started and always looking to have a good time. When that music came on—whether he had a partner or not, he would make his way to the dance floor. Those loud finger snaps and offbeat claps were very distinct. Karl loved all kinds of music from gospel, R&B, oldies but goodies, etc. Never heard him playing rock or country music, but I'm sure he probably would've cut a rug to that too. Some may not know, but Karl and his moves made appearances on the Dance Connection, a popular local dance show hosted by the "Moonman". Karl was very sociable and would talk to and carry on conversations with anyone. He always had everybody laughing whenever he would hit you with one of his many short phrases such as "I've seen better heads on a cabbage"; "Don't hate me cause I'm handsome", "Let me live", "Daddy's tired", "Don't play me cheap", and "I'll holla" to name a few.
Karl Sr. was preceded in death by his grandparents; sister, Cheryl Carroll; nephew, James Chase;
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughter, Cynthia "Cyn Cyn" Winston (Desmick Sr.); son Karl Chase, Jr. "Junnie"; grandchildren, Nyesha Maddox, Desmick Winston, Jr., Star Chase and Syncere Chase; parents, Russell and Theresa Chase; sisters, Colette Chase, Terrell "Terri" Chase and Petrina Chase; brothers, Russell F. "Freddy"Chase (Cheryl) and Leroy T. King, Jr. (Robin); brother-in-law, Donnell Carroll; aunt, Lorraine Dyson; godmother, Rebecca King; godchildren, Minnette Ligon and Marcus Thomas; honorary son, Je'Vonte Chase; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.
