Charles William Brawner, Jr. (Age 65) of Nanjemoy, Maryland.

On Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in La Plata, Maryland, Charles Brawner, Jr., peacefully transitioned to eternal life.

Charles William Brawner, Jr.,  also, affectionately known as "Jim "or "Chuck," departed this life on May 23, 2017 at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, Maryland. Charles was born November 27, 1951 to the late Mary Delores Brawner and Charles William Brawner, Sr., "Cowboy."

Charles was educated in the Charles County public school system.  In 1972, he relocated to Baltimore, Maryland where he worked for Comfort Inn in Pikesville for twenty-seven years.  He started his career as a porter and worked his way up to Chief Engineer.  He then went on to work at Equity Management and Cove Property until retirement in 2016. Charles loved his work.  He was well respected and everyone loved to be around him. He enjoyed talking and always had a smile on his face. Charles also enjoyed listening and dancing to James Brown music.  Most important was the love he had for his wife and family.

In addition to his parents, William Charles Sr. and Mary Delores Brawner (Fenwick), Charles was preceded in death by his sister, Gleness and brothers, James E. Brawner and Douglas Short.

Left to cherish many memories are his loving wife, Janet Bannister Brawner, brothers, Francis (Hilda Ford), Earl (Agnes), Joseph (Frances), Richard, Ronald "Ronnie," Kevin (Latarsha Carroll), sisters, Mary Castillo (Martin), Brenda Shirriel, Deborah Posey (Dennis), Diane (Gary Murray), Shelia, Lisa Proctor (Charles), sister-in-law, Paulette Walden (Stephen), brothers-in-law, Jonathan (Doretha) and Brad William Bannister (Doretha), aunts, uncles and a host of nieces, nephews relatives and friends.

Viewing, 10:00 am until time of service, 11:00 am, Friday, June 2, 2017 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
