IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvette Marie
Mcpherson
February 23, 1959 – August 6, 2019
Yvette Marie (Johnson) McPherson, 60 of Indian Head, Maryland.
Obituary
Peacefully on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, Yvette Marie McPherson peacefully transitioned to eternal life at the Fort Washington Medical Center, Fort Washington, Maryland.
Born to Yvonne Johnson and Eugene Johnson, Sr. on February 23, 1959, her lengthy battle with cancer ended with a note of triumph with loved ones constantly by her side. Though victorious in many ways and defying science with the ability to live a full life after her diagnosis, she departed this life leaving a legacy of tenacity and strength. She was a woman of small stature, but displayed the heart of a mighty lion, and was nick-named "the miracle lady".
Yvette enjoyed many types of crafting, using her skills to create handmade gifts for those who would not otherwise received such beautifully crafted items. She received the most enjoyment in life by creating the laughter in others. Even in her most difficult days, she would declare it a good day if someone smiled because of something she said or did.
She loved the fellowship of others, loved to smile and most of all dance. Even while recovering from surgery, she let everyone know that her spirits were high by doing a little step while still in ICU.
She is survived by her loving children, Alvino McPherson, Shanita Milner (Ray) and Dwayne McPherson; grandchildren, Cassidy McPherson, Brielle McPherson, and Amelia Bahmani-McPherson; mother, Yvonne Johnson; sisters, Debra Trott and Penny Warren (Porter); stepmother, Ingrid Johnson and devoted family friend, Vanessa Davis.
She was greatly loved and preceded in death by her father, Eugene Johnson, Sr. and her brother, Eugene Johnson, Jr.
Her hearty laugh, fighting spirit and joy of life will be greatly missed by a host of beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, family members and friends, from all walks of life.
Her Viewing will be, 10:00 am, until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am, Friday, August 16, 2019 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 30 Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Resurrection Cemetery, 8000 Woodyard Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.
