IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Willie Warren
Crocheron
April 16, 1930 – October 4, 2024
Willie Crocheron, 94, of Waldorf, Maryland.
On Friday, October 4, 2024, Willie W. Crocheron of Waldorf, Maryland quietly transitioned to eternal life.
Willie Warren Crocheron answered the call to eternal rest on October 4, 2024, at the age of 94. Her quiet demeanor and ladylike mannerism led to her affectionally being known as "Lady". She leaves behind a legacy of humility and elegancy.
Willie, daughter of the late David and Rosa Warren, was born on April 16, 1930, in Ivor, VA. Willie was one of eleven children. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Crocheron; daughter, Pamela Warren; five brothers, Alexander Warren Sr., Rev Dr. Lemuel Warren Sr., Matthew Warren, Kenny Warren, Marvin Warren Sr.; four sisters, Georgette Fulgham, Ida Harrison, Adelene Cosby and Gracie Baker.
Willie's journey through life represented a continuous process of growth and transformation. She was educated and graduated from Southampton County Public School System and subsequently, St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as a secretary with the Southampton County Training School. Willie later advanced her career and accepted a job at the Norfolk Naval Base as a contract specialist where she met her husband. Together, they later moved to the Washington, DC /Temple Hills, MD area where she continued to advance her career with the Department of Navy until she retired in 1993. Her job often took her on international travel which she enjoyed because it enriched her life and broadened her horizons. She received numerous performance awards during her federal career. She retired from the federal government with forty years of exemplary service.
It was clear from the start that Willie possessed a deep love for learning. She was known to constantly seek knowledge and always wanted to keep her mind sharp by solving crossword puzzles until her illness no longer afforded her the ability. She remained up to date in current events by utilizing her Google Chrome until one month before her death.
Growing up in the church, Willie formally accepted Christ at an early age and joined Beulah Land A.M.E. Zion Church, Ivor VA. Here she remained a member until she relocated to the Washington DC area where she joined Full Gospel Church, Suitland, MD and remained a member until her death. Once she became ill, Willie relocated to Harmony at Waldorf, Waldorf, MD where she succumbed to her illness. Willie maintained her strong faith throughout her life, keeping Christ the cornerstone of her existence. Her faith served as her source of strength throughout her illness.
Our beloved Willie leaves to cherish her memories: a devoted sister, Vivian Warren (James); Goddaughters, Chandra Lewis (Keith), Marvette Mathis (Darrell); step-daughter, Crystal Crocheron; Two Nieces, Corette Jones, Irene Warren; Six Nephews, David Warren, Alger Warren (Velven), Orbrey Warren, Keith Cosby (Linda), Kevin Cosby, Alexander Warren Jr.(Cynthia); special great nieces, Mikisha Freeman, Mechelle Freeman, Kayla Cosby and Kiara Warren; a host of great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
We love you "Lady" but God loves you more and decided to bring you home to live in his kingdom. We will forever miss you as you rest in peace.
Gone is the face we loved so dear
Silent is the voice we loved to hear
To far away for sight or speech
But not too far away for thought to reach
From this world of pain and sorrow
To the land of peace and rest
God has taken our dear loved one
Where she will find eternal rest
God knew that when he called
That the hills were hard to climb
So, he closed her weary eyelids
And whispered, "Peace be Thine".
