WILLIAM ARTHUR WHEELER (AGE 87) OF POMFRET, MARYLAND

On Saturday, January 8, 2022, at his residence in Pomfret, Maryland, William Wheeler peacefully transitioned to eternal life.

William was born and raised in Bel Alton, MD where he received his education at Bel Alton School in the Charles County Public School System.  William was also a Veteran who served his country in the U.S. Army.

After his time in the military, William accepted a position at the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, MD.  He retired from there after several years of employment.

Mourning his departure is his brother Joseph Melvin Wheeler (Arnetter) his children, Patrick Smoot, Patricia Smoot, Shelva Redd (Reggie) and Robert Wheeler (Shelly).  He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Wheeler, his daughters; Velma Barnes, Marcia Farrar, Lisa Wheeler and his son, William Wheeler II.  He will also be missed by his grandchildren, Cedric Wheeler, Davon Andrews, Marcus Barnes and Reema Wheeler, along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins, and other relatives and friends.
