IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Warren Louis
Taylor, Sr.
June 22, 1953 – November 23, 2017
Warren Louis Taylor, Sr., 64 of Bryans Road, Maryland.
Warren L. Taylor Sr.'s life journey began on June 22, 1953 in Washington, DC, where he was born to Mary Ann Lewis Taylor Young and the late George Calvin Taylor. Raised in Bryans Road, MD by his mother and step-father Bennet Young, he spent his days surrounded by friends and family and playing sports. Warren was part of the Indian Head Youth Baseball League team and was the first young man to hit 3 Grand Slams in the county. He could also be found with best friends Carlton and Pick, driving from house to house collecting food and leaving laughter. Warren attended Charles County Public School, graduating from Lackey High School. It is here that he would meet June Brown, who he affectionately called his baby momma, and together they had Warren Jr. in 1971.
As an adult, Warren enlisted in the U.S Airforce. His time in service took him both overseas and around the United States, during which he would meet his first wife Elaine. They were married in 1978 and soon after had a son, Chavez Taylor. In 1979 Warren was honorably discharged from the Air Force, after which he settled back into the Washington, DC area. If he wasn't working then you could guarantee to see him riding around with friend's Mike and Clint listening to his old school classics. In 2005, Warren married long-time friend Vanessa and gained a "bonus daughter" Kea.
Warren was known for many things, but above all he was known for his love of all people and his many acts of service. He spent much time volunteering at the VA Hospital and with several N.A. groups, as well as traveling back and forth between West Virginia and Maryland visiting loved ones. One of his favorite things to do was to come home and enjoy a plate of his "mommies'" cooking while visiting his babies. Warren also had a love for sports, fashion and hand dancing. When you saw him you were also sure to see some form of Raiders paraphernalia, a pair of Stacy Adams on his feet, a few rings on his fingers, and a fedora on his head. Warren was the embodiment of the word style and he made sure everyone knew it.
Warren leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Mary Ann and Bennet C. Young; sons Warren Taylor Jr. and Chavez Ray; step-daughter Kea Dodson; grandchildren Tabryna Taylor and Tariq Robertson; God-children Marquita Phillips, Charles (Charlie) Pinckney, Marquita Wright, and Bennita Douglas; aunts Estelle Holmes (Colbert) and Vivian Wimbish; uncles Henry "Van Dyke" Lewis and Maynard Young (Margaret), and a host of other beloved family and friends.
