Walter Lee Hall, 80 of Waldorf, Maryland formerly of South Carolina.
Obituary
Mr. Walter Lee Hall was born June 20, 1942 in York County, South Carolina. He was the first born to the late Leroy John Thomas Hall and Mary Freeman Hall.
Walter Lee or Walt as he was affectionately known, was a 1960 graduate of Finley High School. After graduating high school Walter Lee joined the US Army. His time in the Army was somewhat short as he was injured after just two years and was honorably discharged. Upon being released from the Army, Walter met and married Wilhelmena Walker and from their union four children were born; the late Aldwin Hall, Warren Hall, Windy Owens and Wendell Hall.
Walter was employed by SouthLand MidAtlantic Corporation, as the Regional Supervisor for Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. He was very well known and admired by fellow employees and administrators. After working for SouthLand for nearly twenty years Walter retired and subsequently moved back to his hometown of Chester, South Carolina.
Walter found new employment after retiring. He was employed as a mall security guard at Spartanburg Mall, in Spartanburg, SC, where he lived for nearly 30 years. In June of 2020, Walter returned to Maryland to be with his children where he lived out his remaining life. On Sunday, October 23, 2022, Walter Lee Hall transitioned to eternal life.
Walter leaves to be remembered by his three remaining children; Warren Hall, Windy Hall-Owens (husband, Anthony Owens), Wendell Hall (wife, Dawn Hall); ten grandchildren: April Hall, Janet Hall, Aaron Hall, James Hall, Deja Wyatt, Armani Carr, Takayla Walker, Aja Owens, Alexis Owens and Jordin Owens; eleven great-grandchildren: Kaliel, Zamiyah, Aaron Jr. ,JaDarius, Kamora, Caleb Jr, Kayden, Kehlani, Alijah, Armari, Harper and Jizelle; he also leaves to be remembered by his five sisters, Elaine McCrorey (Melvin) of Rock Hill, SC, Veronica Bowser (Carl), Cathy Wilks (John), Terri Crawford (Charles) and Tawana Abell all of Chester, SC; five brothers, Thomas Hall (Stephanie), Tony Hall (Daisy), Curtis Hall, Alvin Hall and Jeffrey Hall (Clevette) all of Chester, SC; aunt, Willie Mae Freeman of Charlotte NC and uncle, Willie Parks of McConnells, SC and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing, 10:00 a.m. until time of Service, 11:00 a.m., Monday, November 14, 2022 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, immediately following service at Quantico National Cemetery, 18424 Joplin Road, Triangle, Virginia 22172.
