IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Walter Herbert
Dyson, Jr.
February 17, 1955 – September 2, 2022
Walter Herbert Dyson, Jr., 67 of Indian Head, Maryland.
Walter Herbert Dyson Jr. (aka Lil Walla) was born February 17, 1955, to Walter H. Sr. and Hilda Martina (Ford) Dyson in Washington, D. C. He departed this life peacefully at the University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, La Plata, Maryland on September 02, 2022, after a fight with Gastric Cancer.
Lil Walla was educated in Charles County Public School and finished his education with a GED while serving three years in the Marine Corps. Lil Walla explored many career opportunities. He was a pro with cars, if it needed to be fixed, painted or tested, Lil Walla was the best man for the job. He would always say "Can't nobody tell me about fixin' cars."
A conversation between him and Mannie would go like this:
Lil Walla: These new cars don't have those parts no more. They stop making those cars like that.
Mannie: "It does so, and I can show it to you right now!"
The Arguments between those two would go on for hours because both were right and neither of them could be wrong!
Lil Walla loved to cut the grass. It was so hard to keep this man in the house. The heat wasn't hot enough to burn him and the cold wasn't cold enough to freeze him. "I have stuff I need to do outside" is what he would tell us when we told him to take his butt back in the house and sit down. He always had something to do, but nothing really had to be done at all.
Lil Walla also loved to cook. When it came to cooking, "nobody could do it better than him."
At four o'clock in the morning Lil Walla would call Keisha, who's trying to sleep until the alarm goes off at 6:30 a.m. Hey Babe! Hey, Uncle Walla! What chu doing? Sleep! Ooh! I didn't mean to wake you up, but I need you to come down here and try this chili before you go to work. I need to make sure it's not missing anything. No Uncle Walla, your chili is fine. It always tastes the same. It's perfect! I will come when I get off at 4:00 p.m. Alright, but it might be gone by then. I'm trying to make sure you get yours before everybody else gets it. Okay, Uncle Walla, it's too early for chili right now. I'm sure it will be there when I get there. I will see you this evening!
Besides mowing the lawn and cooking, he had been addiment about taking his motorcycle for a ride that he had been cleaning for months but, unfortunately, he never got around to it. Thank God for that!!!
Lil Walla enjoyed watching westerns like Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He also enjoyed action movies. One actor he enjoyed the most was Steven Segal. He was always waiting on the edge of his seat for Segal's next move. Then, you never knew what kind of story was coming relating to roles he played like Segal way back in the day.
On Sunday mornings, Lil Walla did one of two things. Either he went outside and stared in the universe, or he turned the stereo up as loud as it would go to enjoy his oldies but goodies music, while calling to see how folks were getting along. Back in the day he and his cousins had a band.
Lil Walla is preceded in death by his father, Walter H. Dyson Sr., mother, Hilda Martina (Ford) Dyson, brother-in-law, Francis "Candy", uncle, Harold "Bubble" Dyson, aunt, Daisy and cousin, Sharon "Cocoa" Dyson.
Lil Walla leaves to cherish: four children, Walter H. Dyson III "Mannie" (Emogene Allen "Boo"), Paulette Dunnington-Stern (Johann), Jessica and Angel; four grandchildren, Tre, Amaya, Jayce and Natalya; brother, Jefferey Dyson (Sung), three sisters, Esther (Wayne), Hilda (Birdie), and Towanda Beverly (Joe), two nephews, Daryl and Joseph "DeQuane", three nieces, Keisha (Shannon), Tiffany and Bianca, and a host of aunts, cousins, great nephews, nieces, special friends, and family.
