Obituary

Walter Branch, Jr. (affectionately known as "Bud"), was born on April 28, 1938, in Forkland, Alabama to the late Walter Branch Sr. and Mary Winn. He met and married Bessie Jenkins, to which they built a beautiful life together until he peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday, April 20, 2014.

Walter received his education through the Green County Public Education School System. After completing his education, he joined and served for 18 years in the United Stated Army, to which he was honorably discharged.  After 26 years of working at Winn Dixie he retired. During that time he also worked for Larkin & Scott and Weatherly Funeral Homes.

Walter Branch was preceded in death by his son, Isom Thomas and sister, Evelena Winn.

Walter leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife, Bessie Branch; children, Kelvin (Kareem) Lomax, Tammy Sams, Brendalan (Kenneth) Jackson, Apprilla (CJ) Mason and Michael Branch; daughter in law, Dorothy Thomas; sisters, Fannie (James) Charleston, Essie (Robert) Brock, Vera Hawkins and Isabella Jackson; brother, and Jimmy (Francis) Winn; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and dear friends.

His viewing will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 from 11am until 11:45am; Service 12noon at Grace United Methodist Church, 11700 Old Fort Road, Fort Washington, Maryland 20744.

Interment Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
