Vincent Xavier Thompson (Age 74) of Fort Washington, Maryland

Vincent Xavier Thompson was born, July 21, 1946, in Washington, DC, to the late James Thompson and Alice Jackson.

Vincent completed his education in the Charles County public school system and graduated from Pomonkey High, Class of '64. He met his wife, Vertie, at a social event. They were joined in marriage, October 13, 1972 and from that union, a beloved son and daughter were born. He was a proud and devoted husband and father. His wife, Vertie, was most influential in his life. He was admired for his great sense of humor, joking and constant smile.

Vincent worked as a Pipe Fitter at St. Elizabeth Hospital for more than 20 years before his retirement. In Vincent's early years he loved going out and was affectionately called the dancing machine. His hobbies were gardening, music, dancing and guitar. He loved attending crab feasts, family reunions at Lamonts and Green Acres, football and sharing his vegetables from his garden.

Vincent was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Conchita and Cynthia and brothers; James and Cedrick.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Vertie, son, Edward (Kay) and daughter, Wyceta Thompson, grandchildren; Alexander, Keala, Julian Thompson.
