On Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 4:34 p.m. God call another Angel home, Veronica Charlotte Sandidge departed this earth and transitioned to her heavenly home.

Veronica was born to the late Charles and Estelle Johnson on March 21, 1948 in Washington, DC where she also was raised. She was the youngest of two children and the sister of Verstella Yates. Eventually, her and her family moved to Charles County, MD where she attended and graduated from Archbishop Neale School in LaPlata, MD. She moved on to marry the late Russell P. Sandidge and raised three children, Annunciata, Renee and Renard. Veronica, decided to be a stay at home mom. In her spare time she volunteered with Meals on Wheels and offered assistance in hospital wards by holding and comforting new born babies. She also adopted a child in Africa through her charitable contribution to a not-for-profit organization. Once she raised her family, she went back to school and graduated from Chesapeake Business School (CBI) where she also was selected to become a member of the National Honor Society, Alpha Beta Kappa Incorporated.

Later, she entered the workforce retiring from a 22 year career where she gave service to the Internal Revenue Service and then US General Accounting Office (GAO). During her time with the federal service, she continued her education to obtain an associate degree from Prince Georges Community College in paralegal studies. During her time with GAO, she received numerous awards and recognitions for her work to include working directly with the Secretary of the Senate on special projects. Her other accomplishments was being licensed real estate agent with Long and Foster, a Mary Kay Consultant and an Avon Representative. Veronica, decided to leave the federal service to devote more time with her family especially her great-grandson and her sister. She also volunteered her services on multiple political campaigns.

Veronica, loved helping others, spending time with her family, being with dear friends and she also enjoyed traveling.

She was a devoted and loyal attendee of Mount Calvary Catholic Church, where she really enjoyed fellowshipping. Her desire was also to sing in the chorus and take part of the Sunday mass; however, her declining health never afforded her the opportunity.

Veronica was a consoling, compassionate and genuine person. She was none other than a loving and dedicated mother, sister, aunt and friend. Veronica had a warm and graceful smile, and that alone could fill your heart with joy. Veronica, had a true Christian spirit and was truly a bridge over troubled waters for many who loved her because to truly know her was to love her.
