Ulanda Maria Williams (Age 60) of Washington, DC.

Ulanda Maria Williams was suddenly called to rest, Saturday, December 22, 2018; the second of six siblings; born to Nicholas Williams, Sr., and the late Gloria M. Fuller Williams.

A native Washingtonian; the family later moved to New York City.  When the family returned to DC, Ulanda was approximately 11 years old.  She attended NYC and DC Public schools; and received her medical training from Job Corps in Utah.  Then, began her livelihood as a "Healthcare Technician."  As she was affectionately known, Lonnie was extremely devoted, attentive, and meticulous about everything she set out to do.   She often cared for hospice clients - - most of them lived much longer than had been expected.

She met, loved, married, and divorced Eric Dickerson -- and the two remained good friends.  For more than nine years, Lonnie took excellent care for our mother.  Ulanda  had a natural gift for interior design.  If she wasn't fed-up, and she would let you know; she would Bling the most beautiful smile with a deep dimple in each cheek.  She enjoyed supporting her  family and friends; laughter; singing silly songs; zumba; cooking & throwing parties with crazy themes -- just for mom; doing those special, little things that you can't forget; admiring a good looking man; Prayer; reading, studying, & speaking about The Word and GOD; and no matter what, in conversations, her reply was always the good/right response.

Ulanda was Christened at infancy; maintained her Catholic faith; and truly loved GOD.

Recently, the family learned that Ulanda gave to many organizations.  To name a few:  Wounded Warriors; St Jude's for Children; Easter Seals; and the Humane Society.

THE LORD blessed us with a jewel ... !  Sister, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!!

Loving memories of ULANDA will be cherished by: dad - Nicholas Williams Sr.; siblings:  Deborah R. Hale, Nicholas Williams, III., Michelle Williams, & Keith F. Williams (Felicia); nieces & nephews:  MacArthur Parker-Williams, Derrick K. Williams, and Lejuan Green; one great-neice:  Eva Madison-Cole Williams; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  Preceded in death by brother, Derrick Sean Williams; and mother, Gloria Marilene Williams.

A Family Gathering will be held in her honor at 11:00 am, until time of Memorial Service, 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 2, 2019 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640.
