Tyrone Ernest Smith, 52, Boulder City, NV

Tyrone (Terry) Ernest Smith, 52, of Boulder City, NV, formerly of Silver Springs, MD. died July 17, 2011 at St. Rose De Lima Hospital in Henderson, NV.


Born May 27, 1959, in Washington, D.C., he was the first child of Joseph Melvin Smith and the late Marjorie Ann Dotson-Smith.


He was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church in Bryans Road, MD during his childhood. Upon graduation from Springbrook High School he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, NV. Terry remained in Nevada after his honorable discharge from the U.S. Air Force.


He was employed with the state of Nevada for several years and was also a certified Locksmith. He had an inherited love for music; taught himself the guitar and played for family and friends.


Terry is survived by his wife, Margaret, their children, Elise Joy and Noah Benjamin of Boulder City, NV.; his father, Joseph Melvin Smith (Sarah) of Bryans Road, MD; sisters, Dr. Karen L. Smith-Hendricks (Michael) of Raeford, N.C., Jacqueline Smith of Indian Head, MD, Lawan Smith of Bryans Road, MD and Lacetta Bowman of Annapolis, MD; brothers, William C. Bowman, Jr. (Tammie) of Montgomery Village, MD and Wendell Bowman of Bryans Road, MD.


In addition Terry leaves to cherish fond memories his aunts, Mary Preston and Theresa Reis (John), Bertha Dyson, Aretha Bowman; uncles, Phillip (Karen) and Winston Smith, great uncles, Randolph Bland and John Benning, great aunt, Udora Chisley, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.


Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 from 10 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m. at Thornton Funeral Home, 3439 Livingston Road (State Route #227 Pomonkey), Indian Head, Maryland. Burial will take place at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Suitland, Maryland.
