HASKINS, TREVOLIA "TRUDY" (AGE 84) OF FORT WASHINGTON, MD

Beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother; Trevolia Haskins was called from life to eternity on Sunday, January 10, 2016, and now rests in the arms of Jesus.
Trevolia, who was affectionately known as "Trudy" was one of identical twin daughters born to Jettie Williams Tigler and John Frank Tigler on April 27, 1931 in Gastonia, North Carolina. In 1948 she graduated from Highland High School and later went on to attend Kate Bitting Reynolds Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Winston-Salem, NC, graduating in 1959. After relocating to Washington, DC and marrying the love of her life, Peter R. Haskins on April 25, 1964, she had an exceptional career in both the Federal and private sectors, holding nursing supervisory positions at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, and Dr. Lilian Vlalukin Dermatology, LLC., and then serving as a school nurse for Prince Georges County Public Schools, Franklin Dent Elementary School, where she finally retired in July 2005.
Trudy was preceded in death by her loving husband of 44 years, Peter Haskins, her son Clifton Haskins, her identical twin sister, Trecolia "Tiny" Montgomery and brother-in-law Grady Montgomery. She leaves behind to cherish her memories her adored daughter-in-law, Angela Haskins; sister-in-love, Marlene Sampson; treasured nephews Charles Montgomery Sr. (Denise), Jerry Montgomery; Grandchildren, Melanie Whitaker (Eugene II), Rodney Haskins Sr.(Michele), Lakiaha Anderson (Kabuchi); Great-grandchildren, Eugene III, Rodney II, Juwan, Amari, Tania, Jalyn, Jahnae, Kaleb, and Katelyn; and Dear Friends Wanda Brooks, Carol Foster and Diane and Joe Queen.
Her viewing will be held from 10am until time of service 11am on Friday, January 15, 2016, Fort Foote Baptist Church, 8310 Fort Foote Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. Interment Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. Arrangements entrusted to Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Indian Head, MD 20640.
