Woodard, ToWanda Renee (Age 39) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Profile of Life

ToWanda Renee Woodard, daughter of Teresa Woodard was born January 21, 1973 and departed this life suddenly on Monday, February 6, 2012 in a tragic motor vehicle accident.

Wanda, as she was affectionately called was born and raised in Alexandria VA. She attended schools in the area and graduated from West Potomac High School. She continued her studies at Norfolk State University.

Over the years, Wanda held several jobs in the Alexandria Public School system. Her passion for teaching was further pursued when she accepted a position at Lyles Crouch Elementary and T.C. Williams High School working with the mentally disabled students. Those experiences sparked a passion and birthed an unrealized desire (because of her sudden departure)to open a school for boys with special needs. She later began a new career path in dentistry and advanced to an office management position.

Wanda accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. Because she loved to hear the preached Word, she regularly attended worship service. She knew without a shadow of doubt that Jesus was Lord of her life and He alone was in charge of her future. She partnered with Victory Christian Ministries International to worship the Lord in praise and was a committed member of the Dance ministry. Wanda truly enjoyed dancing, singing and praising her Lord and Savior.

Saying that Wanda loved people is an understatement. She would brighten a room with her cheerful greeting, outspoken personality and warm comfortable spirit with a smile that would melt the toughest heart. She would tell you what you needed to hear and not what you wanted to hear. Being a loyal and true person of integrity, it was an honor if she called you "friend". During her pastime she developed a thirst for knowledge and became an avid reader. She would read several books a week. Although she was an excellent cook like her mother, the kitchen was not her friend. She would prefer to take a nap or read a book rather than to be in the kitchen cooking.

Those who knew Wanda loved her genuinely. She was a devoted and amazing mother, to Maximilian, raising him to be a gentleman and that the "sky was not his limit". She was a loving daughter and sister and loved by all family members and friends.

Wanda leaves to cherish her life, love and legacy: her son Maximilian J. Hardnett, Mother, Teresa Woodard Alexandria VA and Stepfather William H. Jones Falls Church VA; devoted partner, Adrian F. Hardnett, Ft Washington MD; Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew and Essie Mae Woodard; Aunts/Uncles Mary and Otis Sherrod, Linda and Moses Barron, all of Wilson NC; Tim and Gloria Woodard, Alexandria VA; Andrew and Carol Woodard Jr. of Stantonsburg NC and Brenda Copeland Martin of Clinton MD. "Sisters" and "Brothers" Sandra Jones of Upper Marlboro MD; Carlos and Tanisha Ward of Williamsburg VA and Cassandra Cotton, Wendall NC and advocate, fondly known as "Momma Fredicia Hardnett"; Godchildren: Tykii Woodard, Brittany and Niyah Ward, Tichina Sherrod, Brenaza Cotton and a host of many other special relatives and friends.

Visitation, 10am until time of Service, 11am Friday, February 10, 2012 at Victory Christian Ministries International, 3911 St. Barnabas Road, Suitland, Maryland.
