WASHINGTON, TONYA (AGE 50) OF WALDORF, MARYLAND

Tonya was born April 11, 1972 to the late Sidney Washington, Sr., and Janice (Goldring) Washington in Prince George's Hospital Center. She began life in Brandywine, MD then at the age of 7 moved to District Heights, MD.  She resided there until moving in 1989 with her sons Tommy Jr., (TJ) and Derrick to Bryantown , MD to live with Momma (Ida Goldring). This is where she finished her high school education at Thomas Stone High School in 1991. After graduation Tonya along with TJ and Derrick moved to LaPlata and resided there until she moved to Waldorf in 1999. They lived in a few places, then in 2005 Tonya moved into Ell Lane until present day.

Tonya had several jobs working one of them all at the same time. She was always offering a helping hand. Her full-time job being Charles County Harc where she spent most of her working time. The last few years she has been also a caretaker/friend to Ms. Linda who was her buddy. Tonya was our Angel on Earth, working her spirit into everyone she encountered. Her soul was giving beyond the maternal aspect. She was there always for everyone, and everything type of support. When not working, she was busy running around gifting and spending time with friends and family.

Tonya was preceded in death by Tommy Banks, Sr., (sons father), father Sidney "Wolf" Washington, Sr., brother Lindsey Makle; sister Shedonna Makle; grandmother Ida Lucille Goldring; uncles James Washington, Sr., and Lloyd Washington; step-grandson Ian Tahtinen; grandfather Anthony Goldring; and uncle Robert Washington.

Left to cherish Tonya's memory, her beloved sons Tommy Jr., and Derrick Banks (Cherie); mother Janice Washington; brother Osweld Washington; sister Tawanda Washington; step grandsons Isaiah King and Ivan Somerville ; bonus mom Ruby Washington; sister Eve Makle, brothers Glen Makle and Dericky Washington Sr.; nieces Dakota Keys, Tamara Washington and Destiny Williams; nephews Terrance Holtz, Dericky Washington Jr., Elijah Bell, Damon Washington, Xavier Makle, Ahmad Makle and Cortez Washington; great-nephews Khelan Washington, Kodi Bell and Joziah Boykin; great-nieces Jayelynn Boykin and Talayah Penn; Aunts Barbara Goldring, June Furqan, Ernestine Goldring, Freda Chase, Shirley Jones, Vicki Chase,Yvonne Brooks and Carolyn Washington; uncles Tony Goldring, Clifton Goldring Sr., David Goldring Sr., Floyd Washington, Lowell Chase, Spencer Chase and Terry Chase; numerous cousins and friends that she highly cherished.

On Saturday, July 30, 2022, while at home, Tonya quietly transitioned from this life to one eternal.

Her viewing will be held from 10:00am until time service 11:00am on Saturday, August 13, 2022 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640.
