IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Tiffani Monique
Johnson
February 9, 1987 – June 29, 2024
Tiffani Monique Johnson, age 37, of Waldorf, Maryland
Tiffani Monique Johnson was born on February 9, 1987, in Bethesda, Maryland at the U.S. Naval Hospital to the nurturing embrace of her parents, Anthony and Sherri Darlette (Warren) Johnson, who bestowed on her the importance of education, discipline, fairness, caring for others, and treating individuals as you wish to be treated. Although tiny in stature, she used her upbringing as a Sailor's daughter to meet all challenges and to make her own way in the world.
Tiffani was educated in the Prince George's County Maryland Public School system and attended and graduated from Surrattsville High School in Clinton, Maryland, where she served in R.O.T.C. and on the school's Step Team until graduating in 2005. She also attended and graduated from the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Sociology. She accepted Christ at an early age and additionally as a young adult. She was baptized at Ebenezer A.M.E. Church in Camp Springs, Maryland by Reverand Dr. Granger Browning in 2011.
Tiffani was employed until the time of her passing in the music industry as a financial analyst at SoundExchange Inc, an entity responsible for paying artist and publisher royalties for digital music sales. She was beloved by SoundExchange, who supported her supervisor and peers on the Senior Repertoire Management Team until her last days. Believing that she landed a fun career, she loved them as well! She enjoyed the free tickets to sporting events and meeting the music artists as they visited the company. Most noteworthy was her quest to pay Prince by asking her dad, who is a Privacy Officer, to locate him. He kindly obliged and located Paisley Park/Prince's home in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and the "Artist" received his royalty transfer.
Tiffani is known for her love of all-things Winnie the Pooh, the color blue, and Sunflowers. She was an avid music fan, which she gained from her father. Her favorite artists were Aaliyah, Nipsey Hustle, and Jene Aiko. She was extremely artistic – showing tremendous drawing and painting skills, which she gained from her mom. She also liked erecting Lego projects and completed puzzles of all shapes and sizes.
Tiffani is the second child in the Johnson household under her best friend and brother, Gregory Leon Warren. Connected at the hip in her healthier days, there was no event, concert, or activity that they did not do together. He taught her how to ride a bicycle among other fun activities.
Tiffani was a member of a book club comprised of black women that celebrated the contributions of diverse authors who told stories that explored the human experience. This club was not only about books, but also about a gathering of friends that showed support and gave back to the community.
God called Tiffani home to take a respite from pain and suffering on June 29, 2024. She leaves behind a son, Alijah Mikale Johnson, who is her absolute pride and joy. She also leaves her true best friend, her Mother, Sherri "Lady" Johnson, her father, Anthony Johnson, and her brother Gregory Leon Warren. She also leaves behind a host of tremendous friends that include but are not limited to, Omega Broderick, who is a Godmother to Alijah, George Bernard, a high school friend and the de Facto Godfather to Alijah, La Ketta Long-Stewart, who also attended high school alongside the two, and co-workers Crystal Brooks, Yosia Farrington, and Diann Brooks. She also leaves behind a Grandfather, Arthur Johnson (93) and aunts Andrea Jasper, Deborah Baxter, Cynthia Walker, Vera Johnson, Donna Warren, Brenda Johnson, Rhonda Warren (Boogie), and Tonya Warren (Stuff). She also leaves three uncles, Arthur Jasper, Steven (Buck) Baxter, and Eugene Warren Jr. (Dino), and a host aunts, cousins, friends, colleagues, and other caring individuals in her local community.
