IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomina Necole
Wooten
September 14, 1984 – September 2, 2017
"Let not your heart be troubled; ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." John 14:1-2
Based on man's perception, "Gone Too Soon" but not God! His heavenly angels in His own way and for His own purpose, God reached down in His garden and plucked one of His finest and most gorgeous flowers to be with Him. Our beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend, Thomina Necole Wooten, met her master suddenly on September 2, 2017. Thomina Necole Wooten was born on September 14, 1984 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia to the proud parents of the late Ray Anthony Wooten, Sr. of Jamesville, North Carolina, and Joyce Whithurst Wooten of Darden, North Carolina.
Thomina affectionately called "Mina" accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized in the faith at New Hope Pentecostal Holiness Church in Jamesville, North Carolina, during a visit and stay with her grandmother Reverend NedaMae Moore. Later she joined Ebenezer A.M.E. Church, Fort Washington, MD. Thomina was saved and loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind.
Thomina grew up in Alexandria, Virginia, where she also attended Fairfax County Public Schools. She obtained a degree in Criminal Justice at Everest College, Woodbridge, Virginia, where she made the Dean's list as Magna Cum Laude. Thomina later returned to Everest College to obtain a Medical Assistance certification.
Prior to her passing, Thomina excelled in her career as an Armed Security Officer at the Ronald Regan building in Washington, DC. One of her mother's fondest memories was when Thomina would put on that uniform, her head held high, shoulders back and how she stood strong as she walked out the door with her PINK lunch bag. She performed her job with dignity and pride. Thomina was an excellent employee regardless of the task given.
Thomina loved to debate. She liked to get into a person's thoughts and draw them into hers. The epitome of Thomina was her vivacious smile and her contagious laughter. Her sense of style and love for fashion. She loved to dress to impress from head to toe.
Growing up with two brothers was not easy. Mina thought the WORLD of her brothers and always wanted them to be proud of her. They taught Mina how to survive and stand on her own two feet.
Mina's most rewarding accomplishments were her children. Jamauri was her life and Chase was a bundle of joy. She was a loving mother and cherished her sons. They were both a blessing and her greatest love.
Preceding Thomina in death were her father Ray Anthony Wooten, Sr., her paternal grandmother Joyce Simmons, and her maternal grandparents NedaMae Moore and Walter Spann. Thomina leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Jamauri and Chase, her mother Joyce Wooten, two brothers Ray Wooten, Jr. (Nikki) and Troy Wooten (Kristi), her grandfather Roosevelt Simmons, Godmother Carolyn Melvin, Godsister Kanisha Melvin, Godbrother Kirk Melvin, and her four nieces Londyn, Niya, Taylor and Natalya. She will also be missed by a myriad of relatives and friends.
