Thomas Lee Munson (Age 96) of Brandywine, Maryland.

Thomas Lee Munson entered into eternal rest on Thursday, May 24, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Thomas was born on May 10, 1922, in Accokeek, Maryland to the late Jacob Munson and Marie Butler. He was educated in the Prince George's County school system and later attended culinary school in Washington, D.C. Thomas served in the Army in World War II from 1943-1945. He was an extremely hard worker and was employed in a variety of jobs to support his family, including chef at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, bus driver for Prince George's County schools, and taxi driver.

Thomas was married to the love of his life, the late Marie Munson, for 56 years. During their marriage, they were blessed with 11 children.

Thomas was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Piscataway, in Clinton, Maryland for over 70 years. He served as head usher at St. Mary's and as a chauffeur for Monsignor R. Paul Repetti for many years.

Thomas was a big fan of the New York Yankees and Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed going to baseball games, cooking, and watching his favorite show "Sanford and Son."

Thomas was preceded in death by his wife Marie, his sons David, Thomas, and Paul, and his son-in-law, Thaddeus. He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish fond memories, children, Dorothy, Butch, Wayne, Deborah, Pat (Cynthia), Mary (Mark), Valerie, Mark (Stephanie), Eric (Nadine) and Annie. He also leaves to cherish his memory a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His Viewing will be, 9:00 am until 10:30 am in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am, St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13401 Piscataway Road, Clinton, Maryland 20735.  Interment, 1:45 pm, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, Maryland 20623
