Obituary – Thomas Eugene Harley "Gene"

Peacefully on Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the La Plata Center, Genesis Eldercare in La Plata, Maryland, Thomas Eugene Harley transitioned to eternal life.

Gene as he was more affectionately called was born, Sunday, November 9, 1947 in Cheverly, Maryland to John William Harley and Thelma Cecelia (Proctor) Harley.

He received his education at Douglass Senior High School in Prince George's County. Gene was a Landscaper and a professional Truck Driver. He enjoyed fishing and partying with his family and friends.

He was married to Rita L. Harley. This union was blessed with two wonderful children, Rita and Tammy.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma C. Harley (Proctor) and John W. Harley and sister, Marjorie Swann.

He leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters, Rita Crystal Johnson (Eddie) and Tammy Angela Marshall (Dewayne); grandchildren, James E. Lyles, Jr., JaShawn D. Brown, Dewayne F. Marshall, Jr., Demonta G. Marshall, DeAmy Marshall, William E. Johnson IV, (Dee), Ebony S. Johnson and Michael Johnson; great grandchild, Ayden Johnson; two sisters, Kathy Coefield (Tim) and Shirley Johnson; three brothers, Michael Harley, David Harley (Carmen) and William "Alfred" Harley (JoAnne) and a host of family and friends.
