Theresa Ann Hannon (68) of Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
On Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the residence of her son in Capitol Heights, Maryland, Theresa Ann Hannon, peacefully transitioned to eternal life.
Theresa, affectionately called "String Beans" was born March 8, 1948 at Gallinger Municipal Hospital in Washington, D.C. to Thomas and Virginia Brown.
Theresa was educated in the Charles County school system and graduated from Pomonkey High School in 1966.
She met Willie Clay Hannon, at her cousin's house who would later become her husband. Willie and Theresa were married on December 11, 1965 and from that union three children were born.
Theresa loved spending time with her family, hanging out with the kids on weekends and attending family cookouts which included crabs and her son's ribs. Her words of wisdom were "Yes, you can do it and if you have a passion for something, don't let anyone get in your way." Her advice to her grandchildren was, always stick to your goals. She was kind, giving, always smiling and loving. Her family was the joy of her life. She was always there in your corner. Theresa also loved to travel and listen to music.
Her career included working as a Medical Transcriptionist at Greater Southeast Community Hospital and she also worked for the Office of Personnel Management.
Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Virginia Brown, grandparents, Joseph and Hannah Travers and father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Luegither Hannon.
She leaves to cherish fond memories, her devoted husband, Willie Hannon, Sr.; daughter, Jacqueline Johnson; sons, Willie Hannon, Jr. and Cornelius Hannon; grandchildren, Terrance Hannon, Aaron Trent and Tashawna Jackson; great grandchildren, Shaniyah Hannon, Jeremiah Hannon and Khymorie Tyshaun Hannon; son-in-law, Melvin Yarborough; daughters-in-law, Alethia Trent-Hannon and Chant'e Watts; sister-in-law, Jerline Hannon and brother-in-law, Joseph Hannon, Sr.; aunt, Louise Thompson and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing, Thursday, August 25, 2016 from 10:00 am until Mass of Christian Burial, 11:00 am at St. Mary Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 30 Mattingly Avenue, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, St. Charles Cemetery, Glymont, Maryland.
