Theodore Oliver Stringer, Jr of Accokeek, MD  affectionately known as Slinga, departed this life at his home on October 31, 2021 and entered the pearly gates of Heaven surrounded by his loving wife and family.

Theodore was born in Pomonkey, MD on September 25, 1937 to the late Theodore Oliver Stringer, Sr and Florenda Sophia Stringer. He was the third of nine (9) children from this union. He was raised in the Methodist church and attended the Charles County Public School system. After high school Theodore worked a few odd jobs until he joined the Army from 1957 until 1959.

On December 8, 1958 Theodore married the love of his life, Louise V Stringer ( Gladden ), his wife of almost 63 years and of that union seven ( 7) children were born, five (5) daughters and two (2) sons. Valerie (Mina), Charlene (Cindy), Theodora (Dora), Twanna (Molly), David, Rodney (Ricky) and Darline.

Theodore enjoyed watching the Washington Football team, playing cards and listening to oldies but goodies on 89.3 WPFW. He also enjoyed old friends dropping by for a friendly chat or reminiscing about old times but mostly he loved interacting with his family. Theodore was a model for so many family members and young neighborhood children. He was a man of integrity and pride. He said what he meant and meant what he said. Each child, grandchild and family member were special to him in his own way. If he liked you, great but if he didn't, too bad because there was no in between. Oh what a god sent he was to all that knew him and each life he touched.

He was preceded in death by this parents Theodore Stringer, Sr and Florenda Stringer; Daughters Valerie Stringer (Mina) and Twanna Stringer (Molly) ; Granddaughter Latisha Stringer ( Rocco ) ; Brother Walter Stringer ( Kenny ) ;  three ( 3) sisters Melissa Myers, Annie Adams and Lavern Gray and son in law David Dean.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Louise Stringer and children Charlene Taylor (Vincent), Rodney Stringer (Kim), Darline Dean, Theodora Stringer and David Stringer. As well as 3 sisters Evelyn Davis (Isaac), Dianne Adams and Mary Ann Stringer; 1 Brother William Stringer; 18 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends. Special friend Mr. Faith Jones and a faithful first cousin who was like a brother to him, Mr. Alfred S Stringer.

Services will be held Friday, November 19, 2021. Viewing from 10am until 11am. Services immediately to follow. Interment at Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
