STERLING, TERRENCE LEDELL (AGE 31) OF FORT WASHINGTON, MD
God must have told the angels it was time to deliver a blessing. On July 31, 1985 at 4:50 p.m., the angels delivered the blessing of a beautiful baby boy to Isaac and Florence Sterling at Charlotte Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte, North Carolina. Isaac and Florence named their beautiful baby Terrence LeDell Sterling. When Terrence was nine months old his family moved to Fort Washington, Maryland. As a toddler he attended the Forte Foote Academy and at the age of five he was enrolled in Forte Foote Elementary School and went on to middle school at Lord Baltimore also in Fort Washington, MD.
Terrence attended Oxon Hill High School in Oxon Hill, Maryland. While still a student, he started working at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Terrence loved his job at KFC because he enjoyed serving and meeting people. His friends called him chicken or KFC (LOL). After graduation, he continued his education and became an HVAC Technician with AMD Mechanical Services where he was employed up until the day of this tragedy.
Terrence joined the Riverside Baptist Church and accepted Christ at the age of six. A few years later with his parents he united with the El-Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. James Dixon, Jr. for a period of twenty one years. As a youth and young adult Terrence served on the Usher's Ministry. He was always available to help when needed. Terrence loved the Lord, he loved his church family and he loved life! As a member of the Brotherhood Alliance Sport Rydahs TM, Terrence participated in an annual back to school book bag and school supply drive, the Comcast Cares Community Program which helps to paint schools and repair homes for the less fortunate. He also participated in the annual autism charity rides for Davidson School and in the annual blanket and coat drive for the homeless.
On Sunday, September 11, 2016 Terrence L. Sterling suddenly transitioned from this life to one eternal.
As the years go by the memories of their baby boy Terrence Ledell will be cherished by his loving parents, Isaac and Florence Sterling, and his much loved sister Chrystal; his Godmother Lizzie Bert, his great aunt Josephine Lee. His aunts Mary Williams, St. Francisville, LA; Doris Hargrove, Baker, LA; Mary Whitaker, Brooklyn, New York; Lutoria Alston, Hollister, N.C.; Bettie Denkins, Rocky Mount, N.C.; Olivia Teague, New Haven, Connecticut; his uncles, David Sterling, St. Francisville, LA; Jerome Sterling (Elizabeth) Osaka, Japan; Alonzo Bert (Mary) New Haven, Connecticut; Ned Bert (Velma) Hollister, NC; McKinley Bert (Florence) Hollister, NC; five God sisters, Serenity Lawton, Demetria Boyd, Lisa Williamson, Toni and Tyler Dixon, one God brother, Omar Lewis and a host of relatives and friends.
