Sylvester Eugene Heath, 80, of Indian Head, Maryland.

Mr. Sylvester Eugene Heath, 80 of Indian Head, MD passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, peacefully at home.  He was born on September 7, 1941 to the late Eugene Alexander Heath and Marcelene J. Luby-Brown.

Sylvester grew up in Frederick County, MD and attended Lincoln High School.  After graduating high school in 1959 he joined the United States Air Force.  He retired from the Air Force in 1979 after 20 years of service.

Upon retiring from the Air Force Sylvester pursued his AA in Criminal Justice from Prince George's Community College.  After receiving his degree, Sylvester spent another 20 years with the CIA.

He enjoyed watching old western movies and TV shows.  He also enjoyed watching the golf channel, especially when Tiger Woods played.

His other pastimes included traveling with his wife Ruth.  He would often make travel arrangements and tell her later where they were going.  They loved travelling to various U.S. cities and Canada.

When he was young, kids called him "GrandPap" because of a hat he used to wear that belonged to his grandfather, he was called "Ves" by family and friends, and as an adult some would call him "Sly" which he liked the most.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, June Scott and his niece, Althea Scott.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann of 60 years, his two children, Mark (Patsy) and Leslie and three grandchildren, Mark Jr., Leah, and Ray. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Dorothy Bowie, sister-in-law, Freda (Phil), sister-in-law, Clarissa, sister-in-law, Maria, brother-in-law, Rod (Teresa), nieces, M. Tylise Jackson (Warren), Sheila Enid Scott, Sirron Yarnet Brown, Letty Scott, Erica Bowie-Cooke (Anthony), Marion Thomas, Karen Hansley (Darryl "Dee"), Nicole Sutherland (William), Crystal Prue, Kelly Bey, Aleaha Bowie, nephews, James H. Scott, Daron Thomas (Angela), Darryl Thomas, Craig Bowie, DeAndre Pryor, Christopher Bowie (Emily).
