IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Spencer Damon
Morgan
February 10, 1970 – April 6, 2022
Spencer Damon Morgan, 52, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland
"He was a man of extraordinary grace and dignity sent to us by God "for such a time as this".…those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles: they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." - Isaiah 40:31
Spencer Morgan, Sr. was born on February 10, 1970, in Carbondale, IL to the late James E. Morgan and Joyce Morgan. Our Beloved Son and Brother heard our Heavenly Father's voice and answered on April 6, 2022, at the Inova Fairfax Hospital. Spencer accepted Christ, at a very early age, at the Monument of Hope Deliverance Church in Carbondale, IL. Spencer attended and graduated from Carbondale Community High School, where he was an All-American Athlete playing football, basketball, and baseball. He was awarded a football scholarship to attend Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana. Spencer's dream was to play professional football and buy his mom a house. But GOD had other plans for him. At Grambling, Spencer studied Engineering and met the woman who would become his soulmate, Freadda Zeigler. He graduated from Grambling with a B.S. in Engineering and had a prosperous career with several Fortune 500 contracting firms. To know "Spence", as he was affectionally called by his family and friends, was to love him. His infectious smile brightened every room he entered and if he called you a "friend", there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for you. Spence was a big guy, but he had a heart of a teddy bear and family meant everything to him.
In addition to his devotion to GOD and his family, his other two loves were his fraternity, The Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and golf. Spence LOVED Omega Psi Phi, "his bruhs" and golf. As an Omega Man, Spence epitomized the cardinal principles of his beloved fraternity, which are: Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift. On the golf course, he was a fierce competitor and never missed an opportunity to play the game he loved. Whether it was playing on the weekends or during the annual golf gathering with the Long Ash crew or at charity golf tournaments, he was always ready. And it wasn't about winning or losing, but about the opportunity to fellowship with his boys. Spence, we know that you are up there hitting them straight, making hole-in-one on every hole and hopping to the continuous play of "Atomic Dog".
Spence will truly be missed and he leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and soulmate, Freadda Morgan; mother, Joyce Morgan; sisters, Charity Joyneecha Morgan and Keisha Arnetta Morgan; son, Spencer Morgan, Jr; daughter, Jordann Morgan; bonus daughters, Azjah Martina Ritter and Alahna Pace; mother-in-law, Elaine Lenon; sister-in-laws, Christin Battle and Keisha Battle and his extended family, Mark (Andrea) Floyd; Kevin (Stephanie) McIntyre; Prince (Bonnie) Brown; Willie (Veronica) Whitley; The Long Ash Cigar Club (WOLA) and a hosts of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues.
