TAYLOR, SIEGFRIED "ZIG" (AGE 64)OF UPPER MARLBORO, MD
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. Psalm 1:1-2
Siegfried E. Taylor was born in Washington, DC on May 28, 1950 – the first child of Herman and Garcille Taylor. On Monday, February 16, 2015, Siegfried (commonly known as Zig) departed this life at Washington Hospital Center for an eternal life with the Lord.
Siegfried was raised and educated in Washington, DC, where he attended Coolidge High School and later graduated from Federal City College. Zig worked at the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). During his career, he was part of a team that was given the awesome task of converting the Commission from an analog system to a digital computerized system. Zig ended his career with the Federal Government when he retired from FCC in February 2005.
Zig loved the Lord and his church. He rarely missed a Sunday not attending. He was very active and willing to participate where needed. He was also a very cheerful giver.
Zig enjoyed sports and was an avid Washington Redskins fan. He loved to travel and one day he just decided that he wanted to see and know more of the United States and he did. He mounted his motorcycle, which he loved, and made a solo trip across the country. That was one of the joys of his life. He planned to write a book about this great experience, but he only started it. He couldn't get over how well he was treated while in Mississippi.
Zig was a very interesting person and a sincere friend. He had to be doing something all the time. He exercised day and night to stay in shape. He played the piano, wrote poems and he even tried to sing. Children liked him and young adults looked up to him. He liked going to see a good play or an exciting movie. He liked dining out or just staying at home and watching TV. Most of all, Zig loved being around his family. The family is so thankful that Zig left so many beautiful memories behind.
Cherishing memories and celebrating Zig's life are his mother, Garcille Taylor; brother, Ron C. Taylor; one aunt, Betty Jean Gadsden; and a host of other relatives and friends. Zig was preceded in death by his father Herman Taylor, three aunts, four uncles and several cousins.
His viewing will be held from 10am until time of service 11am, Saturday, March 7, 2015, Church of the Great Commission, 5055 Allentown Road, Camp Springs, MD 20746. Interment Private.
