Obituary
Shirley Ann Proctor (aka Mommia), 71 of Waldorf, MD, departed into eternal life on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at George Washington University Hospital.
Shirley was born to the late John Oscar Proctor and the late Elizabeth Marie Richardson Proctor.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Theodore, Lester, Frederick {Freddy} and Thornton Proctor; granddaughter,
Jonell E. Johnson Davis and son-in-law, Lynell W. Dade Sr.
She was educated in the Charles County Public School System and retired after 30 years with the Department of Defense {DOD} and 25 years at Proctor's Inn, where she was famous for her potato salad and fried chicken.
She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grands, sisters and many family and friends. She loved shopping, especially the sales, eating out on Saturday mornings, camping with the family, cruising and going to the casinos. She also loved to clean and cook, making sure everyone had something to eat.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memories, her children, Tywanda Proctor (Kenny Holloway), Charles Proctor (Althea Proctor), Corlette Dade (David Berry), Joy Proctor(Herman Washington) and Shawn Proctor, Sr. (Trina Briscoe); sisters, Mae (Sonny), Eulalia, Evelyn, Doris and Joyce(Michael); grandchildren, Tykeya Brawner, Troy Brawner, Jason Stringer, Lynell Dade Jr., Sequan Pinkney, Antoine Washington, Shawn Proctor, Jr., Terrance Proctor, Calalia Dade, JayQuan Gray and Kierra Shanks; great grandchildren, Lanijah Mordecai, Nevaeh Mordecai, Janiyah Ford {her Butterball} and her "Road Dawg", Mae
Mae and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Her viewing will be held from 9am until time of service 10:30am on Saturday, October 31, 2015 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
