Shirley Ann Montgomery (Age 64) of Bryans Road, Maryland
Shirley, transitioned to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 27, 2020. Born July 28, 1956, Shirley was the youngest daughter of the late Joe Kelly and the late Henrietta Ford. Shirley received her education in the Charles County public school system. On May 5, 1978, Shirley married Bernard Montgomery, Sr. From that union they had three sons, Bernard, Jr., Steven and Mark.
Shirley is preceded in death by her husband Bernard, Sr., her parents, Joe Kelly and Henrietta Ford, in-laws Reginald and Alice Montgomery, brothers, James, Ernest, John and William Ford, sisters, Catherine Ford, Lucille Price and Gladys Coates, brothers-in-law, Tim Price, Paul Coates, John and Jeffrey Montgomery and four nephews Joseph Ford, Jerome Lyles, Jr.,Curtis Ford and David Price.
Shirley survived by her sons, Bernard Jr. (Tammy), Steven (Tee) and Mark Montgomery, eight grandchildren, Travaun, Dae'Shona, Mark Jr., Azayiah and Steven Montgomery, Jr., K'la Coates, Randal and Randolph Bland and two brothers, Charles (Shelia), Kelly, Sr. and Tommy (Helen) Jenifer, two sisters, Francis (Jerome) Lyles and Elaine (Daniel) Jenifer, brothers-in-law, Reginald, Jr. (Liz), Lionel, Sr. (Mae) Thomas Michael (Diltricia), Calvin (Dalisa), Melvin (Wanda), Alvin and Rodney Lamar Montgomery, sisters-in-law, Barbara Ford, Shelia (John) Ford, Theresa (Fabian) Carroll, Eunice (Eric) Riley and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, her godmother, Dorothy Ford, several godchildren and a host of extended family and friends.
Shirley had a passion for family and loved spending time with her boys, her grandchildren and family. She provided childcare for her grandchildren, great nieces and nephews and will hold a special place in each of their hearts. Shirley loved crocheting, listening to music and dancing. In her later years, she enjoyed watching the Home Shopping Network. Shirley's favorite pastime was talking with her two sisters on the three-way. She had two famous sayings, "I swear" and " I'm telling you," and Shirley never met a curse word she didn't like.
