Shirley Ann McCants, 69, of White Plains, Maryland.
Shirley Ann McCants Age 69, departed this life on Tuesday, February 01, 2022 with her family by her side at Medstar St. Mary's Hospital in Leonardtown Maryland. Shirley was born on March 25, 1952 in Washington D.C. to the parents of James Edward & Maude Marie Uzzle. She was the oldest of 3 daughters born to this union.
Shirley attended early education in Washington D.C. & attended Browne Jr. High before moving to Charles County Maryland with her family in 1967. She attended Pomonkey Senior High School, Charles & Prince George's Community Colleges. She began her career as a Computer Programmer/Analyst at Maden Technology Inc. in Arlington Virginia.

On June 30, 1979 she was remarried to George Louis Ford (Buster) and to this union 1 child was born. Shirley moved to Austin Texas in April of 2001. Shortly after retirement, she returned to the state of Maryland to live amongst her immediate family. Shirley was strong-willed, compassionate, gregarious, sincere, knowledgeable, EXTREMELY generous & family orientated. She dedicated years of research to locate ancestors of past & present. She believed there was no greater relationship then that of family. "Life is a collection of ballads that are merged to create one legendary song of an individual's very existence". You would often hear her say "I'm not gonna talk a hole in your head", then she'd precede to do just that. She enjoyed singing and loved music. Through her earlier years, she performed with several local bands: Stone Pleasure, Jim Bennet and Prospect band/show. She loved life and devoted herself to helping others.

Mom's Final Thoughts
While America continues to figure this out, I've decided to just continue being me…Believing that "All Lives Matter", saying "Good morning, Excuse me, and Thank you" to people I don't even know, it's just common courtesy that's all… holding doors for strangers, rolling down my car window and giving a dollar to some lost soul praying that they too will find their way. Have we all not felt that we were lost at sometime in our lives? Forgiving those that have nothing worthy to say about me, for they know me not, they have yet to walk a day in my shoes. I will continue being patient with waiters and other people that provide services, leaving a tip even though I know the service could have been better. Giving a BIG hug from the bottom of my heart and finding good in everything that God has created. I'm going to continue doing these things as often as I am provided the opportunity…
