Parker-Darby, Sheila Marie (Age 53) of Suitland, MD.
On Saturday, June 9, 2012, our beloved Sheila peacefully passed away, unexpectedly, at her home in Suitland, MD. Sheila was born in Washington, DC, on September 13, 1958, to Peggy Parker and the late Jay Dee Parker.
She received her education in the DC Public School system, graduating from Spingarn High School. Sheila furthered her education at UDC, the Washington School for Secretaries, and Georgetown University. She enjoyed many hobbies, which included arts and crafts, sewing, and upholstering.
In the early 1970's, Sheila gave her life to Christ and became a member of the Peace Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir, served on the Usher Board, and later taught Sunday School for many years, until her death.
Sheila was employed at XL, Inc., as a Grant Management Specialist; worked many years for FEMA, as a Grant Development Officer, and once worked as a secretary at the Veterans Administration Hospital.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving and devoted mother, Peggy Parker; two children, Terry Parker of Washington, DC and Britney M. Darby of Hyattsville, MD; one sister, Michelle Parker; one brother, Mark Parker; three precious grandchildren, Ty'Rae Dozier, Ja'Mari Darby, and La'Naiyah Leach; three aunts, Margie Holly, Gladys Owens, and Barbara Brasher; one uncle, Raymond Williams, all of the DC Metro area. Sheila will be greatly missed by a host of other relatives and friends.
