Sharon Collette (Gwynn) Dyson was born, Thursday, August 18, 1949, the first born of Daisy Johnson and the late Lawrence Gwynn. After a lengthy illness, she received peace in Gods open arms on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Medstar Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C..
CoCo, as she was more affectionately called by family and friends, attended schools in Charles County. She graduated from Pomonkey High School in 1967. In 1968 she married her sweetheart, James Dyson and moved to Ft. Riley Kansas. Upon returning to the Washington D.C. area, Sharon started working at AT&T telephone company and in 1987 she started working for the Federal Government at HHS/Bureau of Health Professions. She retired from the Federal Government in 2004 and started working as a government contractor in 2005, where she finished out her government service due to health issues.
Sharon loved to attend family cookouts and get togethers, she also had a standing dinner engagement with her "Golden Girls" for crab night weekly which changed to monthly once her health started declining.
Sharon was most proud of her family, especially her two sons, Corey and Byron and she loved to help others. She was always striving to help others and had a very kind and giving nature. On her daily calls with her son, Corey, she always ended the call with an "I love you turkey" and "I'll Holla". Sharon especially loved her grandchildren, who she cared for deeply and thought about all the time.
She leaves to cherish her memories her two sons, Corey and Byron; step-daughter, Yvonne Ellis; ten grandchildren, Khyree, Anthony, Cori, Corey Jr., Corshey, Micah, Lena, Taylor, Dakota and Tauri; great grandson Oliver; daughters-in-law, Thembi and Angel; mother, Daisy; sisters, Esther, Towanda and Hilda; brothers, Walter Jr., Jeffrey, Eric and Lawrence; sisters-in-law, Isadoria, Aileen, Audrey, Thelma, Vera, Elaine, Carolyn, Sandra, Patrice and Freda; brothers-in-law, Lawrence, Ronald, Kenneth, Lewis, Danny and Shawn; nephew, Manny; nieces, Keisha and Tiffany; special friends, Donna, Linda, Cheryl and Arnita and a host of other family and friends.
