Sarah Louise Love

Love, Sarah Louise (Age 59) of Accokeek, Maryland.

Sarah L. Love, 59, of Accokeek, Maryland, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and dedication to family and community. She was born, September 29, 1966, in La Plata, Maryland, to James Elwood Cobey and Sarah B. Cobey (née Tibbs).

Sarah was raised with strong values of kindness and resilience, which she carried throughout her life. She graduated from Maurice J. McDonough High School in Pomfret, Maryland, in June 1986, marking the beginning of a life devoted to service and family.

On May 14, 2005, Sarah was united in marriage to her beloved husband, Charlie Love of Ashburn, Georgia. Together, they shared more than 20 blissful years of marriage, building a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.

Sarah was a devoted mother to her children: Charlie Love II (age 39), Shakira Love (age 16), and Malcolm Love (age 14). Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into nurturing and guiding them.

Professionally, Sarah dedicated over 17 years of service as a Certified Nursing Assistant with Charles County HARC, where she compassionately cared for individuals with mental challenges in a home setting. Her commitment to helping others extended beyond her career; in 2012, she became a foster parent, opening her home and heart to more than six children in need, providing them with safety, stability, and love.

Sarah found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved traveling, playing cards with her siblings and friends, dancing, and spending quality time with loved ones. She was also known for her adventurous spirit, often riding her Harley-Davidson Street Glide motorcycle on scenic trips and around town.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah B. Cobey; brother, James “Jimmy” Cobey; brother-in-law, Willie J. Love; and sister-in-law, Gloria Love.

Sarah leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Charlie Love; children, Charlie Love II, Shakira Love, and Malcolm Love; father, James Elwood Cobey (Geraldine Ward); siblings, CeCe Cobey (husband Peter Shorter), Terri Johnson (husband Pete Johnson), and Lisa Shorter (husband Fred); brothers and sisters-in-law; Curtis Love (Corene), Hattie Love, Samuel Love (Lisa), Terry Love, and John Love; beloved niece, Whitley Black; nephews, Demetric Shorter, Damian Shorter, Patrick Shorter, Wesley Johnson, and Terrell Johnson and a host of extended family members and dear friends.

Sarah’s life was a testament to compassion, strength, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
