Ruth Ann (Butler) Dorsey, 57 of Newburg, Maryland.
At the peaceful rising of the Sun on February 1, 2017, the Lord sent his angels to bring his precious child home for eternal rest.
Ruth A. Dorsey, born July 22, 1959 in Newburg, Maryland to Leo H. Butler and the late Agnes Ernestine Butler. After a long illness she went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at the Fort Washington Rehabilitation Center in Fort Washington, Maryland.
Ruth was baptized at an early age at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Issue, Maryland. Ruth received her education in the Charles County Public School system, graduating from La Plata High School in 1977. Ruth had many talents, all raved about her famous lasagna and fried chicken. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Playing cards at family gatherings was one of her favorite ways to pass time, but, her greatest joy was anytime with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, Ruth was preceded in death by three brothers, Calvin, Melvin and Deon Butler.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memory her husband, David, one son, Deon, one daughter, Lakia (Thaddeus), four grandchildren, Key'Asia, Michelle, Deonta and Kalani, father, Leo, two sisters, Doris and Cathy, three brothers, Larry (Jeanette), Donald (Candace) and Leon (Sylvia), seven sisters-in-law, Sharlene, Gail, Barbara (Mack), Elois (Ben), Bonnie (James), Phylis (Jerry) and Gene, four brothers-in-law, Mitchell, John (Phylis), Jimmy and Ricky, three aunts, Betty Barnes (James), Margaret Newton and Mary Bailey, one great aunt, Lelia Hicks, one goddaughter, Samantha Hudson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
