Williams, Ruth Marian Anderson (Age 81) of La Plata, Maryland.
On August 9, 2014, the Lord called the precious Ruth A. Williams home to eternal rest. Born February 11, 1933 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Sadie Anderson. She was a graduate of Cardozo High School in Washington, DC.
Ruth worked for the Federal Government's Homeland Security Office, Department of Immigration, for 52 years, from which she retired in 2013.
Ruth loved cooking dinner every night for her beloved son Charles. She also enjoyed the time she would spend with her grandchildren. When they were very young she enjoyed watching them dance in front of the TV to one of her favorite performers (Michael Jackson) and she loved her long conversations with Tearria. Ruth's favorite TV programs were The Young and Restless, Dancing with the Stars, Country Music Shows and watching her favorite football team, The Washington Redskins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles S. Williams, Sr. and brother, Elmer Anderson.
Ruth leaves to cherish her memories, her son, Charles S. Williams, Jr., daughter-in-law, Angela Williams, four grandchildren, Tearria, Charles, Taylor and Trevon, great-grandson, Mason, sister, Gloria Beaufort, niece, Shaun McNish-Steeley (Cadito), nephew, Glenn Beaufort, god-daughter, Truvella Carroll, special friends, Joseph Anderson and Arthur Smith and a host of family and friends.
Viewing, 9 a.m. until time of service, 11 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland 20640. Interment, Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, Maryland.
