Rudolph Ambrose Mason"Rudy" (Age 63) of Washington, D.C.

Suddenly on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Manor Care Nursing Home in Adelphi, Maryland. Rudolph Ambrose Mason more affectionately known as "Rudy" transitioned to eternal life.

He was born, July 22, 1951 in Washington, D.C. to Robert A. and Mary V. Mason. Rudy was raised in Hughesville, Maryland.

He attended the Maryland Public Schools where he received his basic education and graduated in 1971, from Thomas Stone High School in Waldorf, Maryland. He was employed with Pyles Lumber Company, PEPCO Power Company and various construction companies within the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan area.

In 1972, he married Darlene Butler and they had one child, Antoinette Mason (Toni).

He leaves to cherish his memories: Darlene Butler (wife), daughter, Lakia Stewart; son, Marlon Stewart; six grandchildren, Trevon, Trinidee, Tiara, Kyia, Alexia and Marlon Jr.; three sisters, Linda Cooper, Barbara Thomas and Mary Bell; two brothers, Lloyd Mason and James Mason; three nephews, three nieces and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Mason; mother, Mary V. Mason; grandmothers, Beatrice Mason and Mary M. Wimbush; brother, Randolph R. Mason; daughter, Antoinette Mason and grandson, Thomas Mason Jefferson.

Viewing, 10 am until time of Service, 11 am, Thursday, November 20, 2014 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland.
