GRANT, ROY LEE (AGE 79) OF UPPER MARLBORO, MARYLAND

Minister Roy Lee Grant, son of the late James Grant and Rosetta Grant, was born on June 22, 1947, in Jones County, North Carolina. After a courageous battle, he peacefully entered eternal rest at home on Monday, July 27, 2026. While our hearts grieve his passing, we rejoice knowing that he is in his Father’s arms in eternal peace. He is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Albert Grant, Katherleen “Kat” Taft, James Grant Jr., Ernest Grant, and Alvin “Nunk” Grant.

Roy leaves to cherish in his memory: His devoted wife, Linda Grant of Upper Marlboro, MD, two sons, Derek Grant of Glen Burnie, MD, Eleazar “Demetrius” Grant of Woodbridge, VA; two cherished daughters in heart, Gina Grant, of Dumfries, VA, Janell Poindexter of Woodbridge, VA, and granddaughter Sanii Poindexter-Grant of Woodbridge, VA; three brothers, Clifton Grant of Kinston, NC, Herman “Bill” Grant of Kinston, NC and Larry Darnell (Sheritta) of Jones County, NC; two sisters, Lovie Jean Baxter of Rockledge, FL and Floretta “Flo” Grant of Accokeek, MD; two brothers-in-laws, Jerry Bradley (Adrienne) of Gates County, NC, Ronnie Bradley (Coretta) of New Bern, NC; three sisters-in-laws, Carolyn Brown of Kinston, NC, Marion Kilpatrick of Waldorf, MD and Kay McCotter (Thelbert) of Dover, NC; special friend and mentor Bishop Lee McCain; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

His viewing will be held from 10:00am until time of service 11:00am on Saturday, August 8, 2026, Christ Kingdom Church, 6809 District Heights Parkway, District Heights, Maryland 20747.  Interment, 1:45pm, August 31, 2026, Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
