Rosa Lee Medley of Waldorf, MD was called from labor to reward on March 15, 2021 in her home. She was born on June 22, 1950 in Halifax County, VA, to the late James Medley and Blanche Robertson Medley. She was the fourth of eight children. Rosa attended Halifax County Public Schools where she graduated from Mary M. Bethune High School in 1971. She was employed by the Department of Defense for 34 years before retiring in 2008. After retirement, she worked in Food Service for Fairfax County Public Schools. Rosa was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Bryans Road, MD where she enjoyed attending Worship. "Mama Rose", as she was affectionately known, loved to sing, dance, cook, and travel. She had a kind heart, a bright spirit, and an infectious laugh. In addition to her parents, Rosa was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Coleman and 2 other siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Tiawana Medley-McDonald (Jason) and Elder Tracey Brown (Matthew); five grandchildren, Andre Cook, Jahrique McDonald, John McDonald, Jordan Stewart, and Danaya Jackson; five great-grandchildren, Kingland Cook, Skyland Cook, Iyland Cook, Dreeland Cook, and Jaylin Cook; four siblings, Evelyn Kerson, James E. Coleman (Corrine), Willie Medley (Beverly), and Cornelius Medley; one aunt, Ruby Coleman (James); one goddaughter, Renee Thomas; a devoted lifelong friend, Charmaine Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Friends may visit with the family Friday, March 26 from 10 am until time of service 11 am at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment at Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, MD.
