Obituary - Reflections of Life
Ronald Lee Toyer was born, March 22, 1956 in Washington, DC. He is preceded in death by his parents, Norena Jane and Edward Toyer, Sr. and his sister, Gail Toyer. He was affectionately known as Santana, CJ (Country Junkie), Ronnie Boy, Slim and Mr. Big.
Ronnie was baptized at a very young age of 6 months at Smith Chapel United Methodist Church in Pisgah, MD. He recently reconfirmed his faith on March 20, 2021 by Pastor Keith White (thanks be to God).
Ronnie attended the Charles County Public School System where he earned his High School diploma. He held several jobs throughout his younger life. His lifetime profession was landscaping and designing.
Ronnie was the life of any family gathering or party, to know him was to love him. Ronnie had a special bond with his mother. His loved his parents dearly. He was definitely a family man.
Ronnie enjoyed fishing, basketball and football. His favorite teams were the Los Angeles Lakers and the New England Patriots.
Ronnie transitioned on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Adventist Healthcare Fort Washington Medical Center in Fort Washington, MD.
Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Vivian Stringer, three granddaughters, Marquira and Amyra Stringer and Leigha McIntyre. His loving partner, Linda Jones Parker; four sisters, Patricia Young (Jimmy), Barbara Washington (Jarriett), Renee I Toyer-Tibbs (Gilbert) and Patricia Proctor; two brothers, Edward R. Jr. and Charles Toyer (Karla); a devoted and loving niece, Rashawn Williams; nephews, Tyrone, Vernell (Vera) Young, Marcus Toyer and Stanley Hatton; great nephews, Neko, Darrius and Javon Hatton; two dear and devoted friends, Clifford Dunnington and Thomas Blake and a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Friends may visit with the family, Friday, April 16, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road Indian Head, MD 20640. Interment, Smith Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Pisgah, MD.
