Obituary

Ronald Lee Jones was born July 26, 1955, in Richmond VA. He was the second child and oldest boy of six children born to Mrs. Lillie M. Jones and Mr. Joseph Brown. He departed this life at 6:30 pm on April 18, 2012 in his 56th year. He was baptized late in life and attended Rehoboth Baptist Church located in Washington DC. He is remembered by his sister as always quoting the 23rd Psalm, his favorite scripture.

Ronald, was affectionately known as Boe, the nickname given to him by his mother. Him and his younger brother Joseph would often be referred to as "Boe Boe" and "Joe Joe". Boe was educated in Washington DC school system where he attended Garrison Elementary, Lincoln Junior High and graduated from Belle Vocational High School. As a young child, Boe always had a passion for sports, he especially loved basketball. He was also an avid Pittsburg Steelers Fan.

After serving as an honorable veteran for two years in the United States Army, Ronald worked over 25 years for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier. In 1982, he married the late Mary Jones, who proceeded him in death. He has four children, Ronald, Sheena, Shadiah and Yvonne, and the legal guardian of his granddaughter, Leanna.

Ronald was preceded in death by his six month old son, Ronald Jones, from his first marriage to Emily Franklin and his second wife, Mary Jane Jones. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Ronald N. Jones; his daughters, Sheena Jones, Shadia Jones, and Yvonne Mason; his granddaughter, Leanna Sutton; his devoted fiancé, Debbie Dudley; his loving mother, Mrs. Lillie M. Jones; his brother, Rev. Joseph (Penny) Brown; four sisters, Dorethea Jones, Sheron Jones, Lillie (Robert) Thigpen, and Patricia Gorham; five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

His viewing will be held on Thursday, April 26, 2012, 10am until service time 11am, Fort Foote Baptist Church, 8310 Fort Foote Road, Fort Washington, MD 20744. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
