Roland Francis Thomas was born June 29, 1939. He was a resident of Washington, DC, Columbia Heights. After battling complications from a stroke, Roland passed away peacefully at United Medical Center in Washington, DC on July 15, 2018.
Roland was born and raised in McConchie, MD. He attended Bel Alton High School in Charles County, MD. Roland was a diligent worker who retired from Washington National Airport. Roland loved listening to baseball games on his transistor radio. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan and loved taking walks around the city. He enjoyed family gatherings and was often comical with family and friends. He touched the lives of many people with his smile and generosity and maintained his trademark sense of humor all the way to the end.
Roland was born to the late Jack Rosier and Lola Thomas in McConchie, MD. Roland will forever be remembered by his devoted sisters, Peggy Lewis and Catherine Johnson (Johnny). He was preceded in death by his mother, Lola Hudson and brother, Jesse Benjamin Hudson. He also lives on in the heart of four nieces: Wanda M. Lewis, Gwendolyn Pearson, Susan A. Lewis and Peggy Drumgoole (Aaron); two nephews: Ralph A. Lewis, Sherwood M. Lewis; two great nieces, one great nephew, dear friend, Charlene Cooke and several relatives and friends.
