Roland T. Gutrick, Sr "Teddy" of Port Tobacco, Maryland entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 4, 2005, at George Washington University Hospital.
Teddy was born on August 27, 1935 to the late Jessie Carroll and Mitchell Gutrick.
Teddy was educated at Pomonkey High School and entered into the Army in 1957. After completing his military service he went to work for the Federal Government.
In 1978 he worked at Maurice J. McDonough High School as a Building Service Manager retiring in 1999.
Teddy enjoyed listening to James Brown's music, dancing, hanging with his friends and his part-time job at Walmart.
Teddy leaves to cherish his memories to: Lillian, 10 children: Roland,Jr, Yvonne, Carolyn, Joyce, Eugene, Sheila, Dianne, Ronnie, Patricia, David and one granddaughter Cheryl, three sisters: Florine Simpson, Christine Pleasant, Cathleen Thompson, seven brothers: Raymond, Theodore, Lawrence, Alfred, Charles, Rudolph, Carter and one deceased Clarence. 31 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren and a host of sister-in-laws, brother-in-law, son-in-laws, daughter-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Viewing will be held on Monday, February 14, 2005 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Thornton Funeral Home Chapel, 3439 Livingston Road, Pomonkey, MD service at 11 a.m., Interment at 1 p.m Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Md. Service entrusted to Thornton Funeral Home, P.A.
