Wilson, Roger Darnell (Age 58) of Fort Washington, Maryland.
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." II Timothy 4:7
Roger Darnell Wilson, son of Mary D. Freeman and the late Roger T. Wilson was born September 2, 1955 in Washington, D.C.
Donnie as he was more affectionately called, attended St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in his youth and graduated from Phelps Vocational High School in 1973 both of which are located in Washington, D.C.. After graduation he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and served his country from 1973 to 1975.
Donnie was employed in Washington, D.C. as a Messenger for a number of years. He then moved to Indian Head, Maryland where he attended Charles County Community College Tractor Trailer Driver Course and from there traveled from state to state. Unfortunately Donnie's illness prevented him from continuing to work but he enjoyed life listening to music, dancing, dressing, watching sports, his favorite being football and spending time with family and friends at cookouts and other family gatherings. Donnie also had a passion for driving sports cars, especially corvettes, two of which he owned.
Peacefully on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at his home in Fort Washington, Maryland, God called his faithful servant, Roger Darnell Wilson to rest in his arms.
In addition to his father he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary D. Richardson and his great grandmother, Eva Newman.
Donnie leaves to cherish his memory his daughters, Carlene Wilson and Robein Wilson-Lucas, grandchildren, mother, Mary D. Freeman, fiancé and caregiver, Joyce Swailes and a host of relatives and friends.
What Is A Son?
A son is someone
Who brightens your life
With his laughter,
Touches your heart
With his smile,
And warms your world
With his love.
