DYSON, ROCHIELA MARIE (AGE 57) OF NANJEMOY, MARYLAND
On Tuesday, April 28, 2015, Rochiela Marie Dyson, of Nanjemoy, Maryland, quietly entered into eternal life at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton, Maryland.
Sheila, as she was affectionately known, was born to the late George William Dyson, Sr., and the late Mary Ida Barber Dyson on August 5, 1957, in LaPlata, Maryland.
Sheila attended Charles County Public Schools. She graduated from Tri-County Community Action where she received her General Educational Development (GED).
Sheila worked for the Tri-County Head Start program for over 20 years. She started out working as a van driver transporting children to and from school. She was later promoted to the position of Assistant Teacher at the FB Gwynn Educational Center.
Sheila moved to Hughesville, Maryland; however, after the untimely death of her companion of 14 years, William Sewell, Sheila moved back to Nanjemoy, Maryland to be alongside her siblings.
She will be remembered as a very caring and loving sister, aunt and friend. She was very kind hearted. If you needed her help, she would sometimes fuss, but she was always there to help you. Sheila had a compassion for cooking and would often cook for her family.
Although she had no children of her own, Sheila loved children and loved to see them grow and prosper. She opened her heart to them all. She taught over 580 children. She treated her nieces and nephews like her own. Our beloved sister will be truly missed.
In addition to her parents, she joins in glory, her brother, Joseph M. Dyson, Sr., her sister, Bonita Drummon; and uncles, Oscar Barber, Jr., and Francis Dyson.
Left to cherish many memories are her brothers; George "Heavy D", Thomas "Tommy", and Robert "Rob", sisters; Sandra "Sandy" and Diane Heard, brothers-in-law; Garnell Heard, Sr., and Joseph Drummon, sisters-in-law; Sandra L. Dyson and Joyce Wood; uncles, Robert "Bobby" Barber, Sr., and Charles "Jack" Jackson; aunts, Ophelia "Phee" Jackson, Bernice "Nee Cee" Muschette, Evelyn "Ebbie" Barber, Doris "Tudy" Barber, Mary "Sam" Dyson and Lillian Dyson.
