Roberta Ella Key (Age 73) of Waldorf, Maryland
Roberta Ella Key was born September 1, 1943 to the late Jeremiah Nathaniel and Emma Cecelia Key. On Sunday, February 19, 2017 while resting in the home of her dear son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Starletay "Denise," she unexpectedly departed this life for one eternal.
"Bert," as she was affectionately known to family and friends, was a devoted mother. She was born in Pomonkey and was a life-long resident of Indian Head, Maryland.
Roberta was born with a twin sister, Alberta, and the bond between the two was remarkable. They lived in the same home and spent most of their time together.
Roberta was a very loving, strong and outspoken woman. She had a giving spirit and was always willing to give even if it was her last. She was a very spiritual woman, and when able, she would attend Metropolitan United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping with her granddaughter, Keva (especially at Dollar General and Safeway)and spending hours on the phone with her sister Alfreda. She spoke highly of her grandsons Kemo and D'Angelo but loved all her grandchildren equally.
Nothing was more comforting to "Bert" then to start her mornings early and making sure she had her coffee. However, her greatest joy came from spending time with her son, Charles and the rest of her family.
"Bert" was a wonderful person who will be deeply missed by family, friends and all that knew her.
