Robert L. Thomas, beloved husband of Juanita L. Thomas, came into this life September 12, 1943 in the small town of Caile, Mississippi. He departed this life on Saturday, October 22, 2011.
He was known by friends and associates as "Bob," but more affectionately called "R.L." by many of his family members. Robert was one of eight children born to the late Willie Avery and Magnolia Thomas. He accepted Christ at an early age.

He also held a position with the University of Maryland Baltimore College as a professor. Robert and his wife started their own tax and accounting firm after his retirement, where he continued working until his passing.
His thirst for knowledge always found him finding ways to better himself, and during his free time you could find him studying for an array of courses in continuing studies. A lover of the outdoors, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time in the yard.
A devoted husband and family man, and a true believer in the term "Southern hospitality," he loved entertaining and cooking for his family and friends.

2 Corinthians 5:6-8 So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight. Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.
