Robert Allen Ricks-Bey, 63 of Washington, D.C.
Robert Allen Ricks-Bey, was born on March 19, 1953 to the late Minnie Highsmith and William Ricks in Washington, DC. He peacefully departed this life on Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Clinton Nursing and Rehabilitation Home.
As a young child he briefly moved to New York City with his family and later returned to Washington, DC.
Robert was educated in the Washington, DC public school system. He attended dental technician school and then quickly developed a love for computer technology. As a career path, building computers became his passion. Robert retired as a Computer Specialist.
Robert accepted Christ as his savior at an early age; however, he later converted to the Muslim faith.
Robert was an excellent student who excelled in math. He possessed a strong will and most often pursued life on his terms. He had a passion for helping kids with their school homework and achieving their dreams.
He enjoyed watching football on Sunday's with his son-in-law and cheering for the Redskins.
All of Robert's friends and acquaintances recognized him as a good listener, warm person and he loved his grandchildren.
Robert leaves to cherish his precious memories a daughter Angel Yvonne Fountain-Cooper, and son-in-law Thomas Cooper. Robert is survived by sisters: Velma, Marilyn, Rochelle and Joy; brothers Jimmie, William and Stanley. Grandchildren Yndia, Courtney, Brock and a host of nieces and nephews and other family members and friends who will also cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by sisters Lena and Barbara(Lucy) and brother Jeffrey.
