Obituary

Robert "Bobby" Marbury of Indian Head, Maryland departed this life on Sunday, April 20, 2025 at Hospice of the Chesapeake, Waldorf, MD. He was born on December 28, 1938, in Fenwick, MD to the late Lorenzo and Helen Marbury.

He attended and graduated from Pomonkey High School. Bobby went to work at River Terrance, Indian Head, Maryland and later worked for Schmidt Baking as a loader for 27 years until his retirement.
Bobby was a member of Metropolitan United Methodist Church. He attended when able until his health began to fail. Rev. Hackey often came to the house to give Bobby communion. He and his brother Garrett watched services on YouTube every Sunday.

Bobby was not alone on Easter Sunday at Hospice. In the morning, he listened to B. B. Wynans, Tamala Mann, and James Cleveland. He heard the Lord's Prayer, 23rd Psalms, and many bible verses. At 10:00 am he listened to Metropolitan's Easter Service. There was family with him the entire time of his transitioning. God never leaves us alone to fend for ourselves. Thanks to Yvonne Marbray for her visits.
Bobby was a homebody and his favorite shows to watch on TV were the Oldies Shows such as Andy Griffith (Ernest T. Bass), Sanford & Son, wrestling matches, and street racing. He loved to eat ribs, Jello (lime), pizza and lemon meringue pie.

He never married or had children of his own but had enough nieces and nephews to keep him busy and babysitting. They all loved Uncle Bobby.

In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by brothers, Thomas (Tat), and Calvin "Bubba", and sister Romaine.

Left to cherish his memory four siblings, Patricia Harrison, Garrett (Helen), Sharon Butler, and Shelly Taylor (Tyrone) and honorary family member, Dr. James Chesley, Jr. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and one Aunt, Evelyn Lowe.
"Peace that surpasses all understanding."
