Robert Louis Brown "Bobby" (Age 73) of La Plata, Maryland.
Peacefully on Friday, May 15, 2015 at the Clinton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clinton, Maryland, Robert "Bobby" Brown transitioned to eternal life.
Robert united in marriage with Mary Alice "Sis" in 1965.
Bobby, as he was affectionately known, was born to the late Joseph L. Brown and Bernice E. "Greene" Brown on August 27, 1941 in Newburg, Maryland.
Bobby attended Charles County Public Schools. He was a laborer/carpenter until becoming ill at an early age.
Bobby will be remembered as a very caring and loving father, husband, uncle, grandfather and friend. He was very kind hearted and also known for his sense of humor; you never knew what he would say next. However he was always thankful.
Bobby's hobbies were watching his faithful Dallas Cowboys beat the Washington Redskins. In his younger years he played with several bands as the bass guitarist. His favorite two sayings were "Like a woodpecker with a headache" and "Ain't nothing cute but a monkey and a baby."
In addition to his parents, he joins in glory, his sisters, Mary Thomas and Ethel (Delores) Whalen and brother, Joseph "Dump" Brown.
Left to cherish fond memories are his wife, Mary; children, Thomas "Tommy" G. Briscoe, Marlon L. Brown (Diana), Derek L. Brown (Kim), Cornelius R. Briscoe, Carol "Sue" Briscoe (Owen), Dale "Lisa" Brown and Joan V. Smoot (Stacey); Also surviving are nineteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, a sister, Denise "Niecy" (William), two brothers, Larry (DeeDee) and James (Donnie), a special long-time friend/caretaker, Joan Cargill and a host of relatives and friends.
Viewing, 9:00am until time of Service, 11:00am, Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, Maryland.
Interment, Heritage Memorial Cemetery, Waldorf, Maryland.
