Obituary
On Sunday, August 21, 2016, Robert Warren Hill Jr. peacefully transitioned to be with family and GOD in Heaven above.
Robert was born December 7, 1966 in Washington DC to Robert Warren and Delores Elaine Hill. At an early age, Robert accepted Christ as his personal Savior while attending Hillcrest Heights Baptist Church. Upon graduating from Friendly High School in 1984, Robert decided to embark on a career in the Unites States Army. He was stationed at such places as Hawaii, Kansas, Louisiana, Texas, Germany, North Carolina and many others. After 21 years of service he retired from the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant (SSG) in May 2006 in Fort Stewart, Georgia. Upon retirement from the military Robert decided to continue his education. He holds a Bachelor's degree and 2 Masters Degrees in Human Services and Information Technology. At the time of his transition he was employed with the Department of Homeland Security for the past 18 months.
Robbie, Rob, or Chill as he was affectionately called by his family and friends had many hobbies to include traveling the country, officiating sports games, fixing computers, and playing cards just to name a few. He was a die-hard Washington Redskins fan and made sure he never missed a game whenever his team was playing. He also had memberships with organizations such as the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, Pi Mu Honor Society, Hinesville Officials Association and Maryland Basketball Officials Association.
He is survived by his mother, Delores E. Hill; his 2 daughters, Katrina R. and LaKeisha S. Hill; his son, 1LT. Anthony Q. Hill; his granddaughter, Kayla N. Hill; his sister, Sonja Malloy; his brother-in-law, George R." Sonny" Ceophas, Sr.; his nephew; George R. "Reggie" Ceophas Jr. (more like a brother); his niece, Shawnte L. Malloy; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley M. Hill; father, Robert Warren Hill Sr.; and sister, Jacqueline V. Ceophas.
The family will receive friends for Robert's Homegoing Service on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at Fort Foote Baptist Church, 8310 Fort Foote Road, Fort Washington, Maryland. The viewing will be from 9 – 11 am with the funeral service starting at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia 22211 at a later date with full military honors.
