Robert Edward Dorsey, Jr. (Age 65) of Accokeek, Maryland.
Robert Edward Dorsey, Jr. was born on April 6, 1950, in Washington, D.C to the late Mary Elizabeth (Ford) Dorsey and the late Robert Edward Dorsey, Sr. He was the oldest of six children.
Robert graduated from Oxon Hill High School and entered the United States Navy. He was honorably discharge after four years of service and returned home to work for C&P Telephone Company. Robert later secured employment with Norfolk-Southern Railway as a Locomotive Engineer and retired in 2013 after 37 years of service.
Robert met and fell in love with his future wife, Patty Lewis while stationed in Mayport, Florida. On July 9, 1978 they were united in holy matrimony. After relocating to Maryland, their union was blessed with two daughters, Ashley and Sarah.
Robert thoroughly enjoyed fishing with buddies, working in his yard and watching old basketball clips and games. He was a proud father and PaPa.
On Sunday, October 11, 2015 he peacefully departed to eternal life at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland.
Robert leaves to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 37 years, Patty; two daughters, Ashley and Sarah, one grandchild, Harlem; two brothers, James and Steven (Dorothy); three sisters, Mary C. Dent, Betty Campbell and Christine Dorsey and a host
of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Viewing, 11:00 am until time of the Service to celebrate his life, 12:00 noon, Friday, October 23, 2015 at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 6634 St. Barnabas Road, Oxon Hill, Maryland 20745. Interment, Maryland Veteran Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
